It can be challenging to know where to begin when looking for campus activities to join, but the UIC Involvement Fair can help ease this path.
The event, which takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 5-6 in the Lecture Center Quad, features more than 200 organizations and campus departments, giving students a wide range of opportunities.
“When you come to a university you have a chance to redefine yourself, define yourself, and explore your interests,” said Vance Pierce, associate director of student organization resources in the Center for Student Involvement. “For Involvement Fair, we are creating those opportunities to do all three.”
Students can reignite an old hobby, go after something they’ve always wanted to try, or join organizations that advocate for topics they care about while connecting with new people and ideas.
The event also features an assortment of free food, such as nachos, funnel cakes, cotton candy and popcorn.
This is the second year that the fair will take place over two days with extended hours to accommodate student schedules.
