Dartmouth Defeats Williams, 6-2

HANOVER, N.H. – The No. 9 ranked Dartmouth women’s squash team returned to action Sunday afternoon at the Berry Squash Courts and defeated No. 13 ranked Williams College, 6-2. Dartmouth improved to 2-2 on the year, while Williams falls to 4-6.  
Ellie Gozogian, Darden Gildea, Julia Potter and Emma Roberts all swept their opponents in three games. Gildea held her opponent to just three in the first game, seven in the second and four in the third, which was the fewest allowed of any member of the Big Green for the day.
Emma MacTaggart won in four games. After winning the first, 11-7, she dropped the second game, 12-10, but rallied to win the third game, 11-3, and the fourth, 11-7. Junnat Anwar was pushed to the brink but eventually defeated her foe from Williams in five games. Anwar fell behind two games to one before taking the fourth, 11-7, and the fifth and final game, 13-11.
Dartmouth hosts Columbia for its next match in Hanover at 2 p.m. on Saturday the 12th.
