Dartmouth Falls to Cornell on Final Day of Women’s Championships

HARTFORD, Conn. – On the final day of the women’s championships in Hartford, Conn., the Dartmouth women’s squash team came up short against Cornell, falling 6-3.      
 
Brynn Bank, Sandra Reiss and Emma Roberts all secured wins for Dartmouth. Bank won in five games, she dropped the first game, 11-5 and won the second, 11-6, Bank then fell behind two-games-to-one, but rallied and won the next two, 11-8 and 11-6.
 
Reiss also had her back against the wall, falling behind 2-1, before winning the final two games, 11-8 and 12-10, in extra points. Roberts won in four games, winning the first two, 12-10 and 11-5, before dropping the third, 11-7. She bounced back to win the fourth, 11-3.
 
Darden Gildea and Julia Potter both put up a good fight, falling in five games, while Ellie Gozigian and Junnat Anwar each dropped four game decisions.
 
Team play has concluded for the Big Green and they will now turn their attention to the individual championships. That will take place in Providence, R.I., on Friday through Sunday.
