CLEVELAND, Ohio – Mia Leko officially concluded her freshman season on Saturday after competing at the three-day College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Invitational Championship.
The meet was highlighted by her finishing in first place in the 200-yard fly (1:57.79). The North Branford, Connecticut, native was seeded third going into the event (1:57.62), a time that won her the Ivy League title last month. After the morning session, the Big Green rookie was sitting in first with a time of 1:59.20 and went on to drop another second and a half at night.
Leko also competed in the 500- and 200-yard freestyle. Swimming in finals of the 500 free on day one of the championship, she placed 20th (4:55.19) after touching in 4:52.53 at prelims.
In the 200 free, she picked up 18 points by placing fifth (1:48.35), dropping half a second from prelims. Her time at finals was just three tenths of a second off what she swam at Ivies.
