Deadline for applying is April 5

If you are an experienced writer, BU Today would like to hear from you.

For summer 2019, we are seeking interns who have strong writing skills and can make a full- or part-time commitment as general assignment writers. The paid positions run from mid-May through Labor Day.

We also have part-time paid internships available for the 2019–2020 academic year. We need students who can start in September, make a yearlong commitment, and work 10 to 12 hours a week, pitching and writing stories about student life, student profiles, and our ongoing “Weekender” series.

Other responsibilities for both the summer and fall positions may include helping staff writers with background research, transcribing audio, close-captioning videos, and assisting with breaking news stories. Previous journalism experience and clips are a must.

For the 2019–2020 academic year, we are also seeking an experienced sportswriter—someone to write engaging, well-researched profiles of student athletes and coaches, previews of athletic events, and other sports-related stories. Previous sports writing experience and clips are a must. (Note: class assignments will not be considered.) Candidates need to be able to work 10 to 12 hours a week.

The deadline for applying for all these positions is Friday, April 5.

For more information about the positions (including salary), visit the jobs board at the BU Student Link. To apply for an internship, send résumé, writing clips (if applicable), and references to Mara Sassoon at [email protected].
