No. 39 Dartmouth (15-8) vs. No. 20 Michigan (17-8)

No. 39 Dartmouth men’s tennis is set to face No. 20 Michigan in its NCAA First Round match. The Big Green and the Wolverines will meet at 4 p.m. at Friday at the Hurd Tennis Center on Baylor’s campus.
The Big Green concluded the regular season with an overall record of 15-8 and went 4-3 in Ivy League play to finish fourth in the conference. This is Dartmouth’s second straight postseason outing and it is the third time in the last four seasons that the Green have made it to the big stage.
Two days after the team received its at-large bid, it was announced that Charlie Broom and David Horneffer had automatically qualified for the doubles championship. This is the first time since 1976 that a Big Green doubles team has made it to the postseason.
The Wolverines wrapped up the regular season fourth in the Big10 with a conference mark of 7-4, defeating Indiana before falling to top-seeded Ohio State in the semifinal. Michigan is making their fourth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Last season, the Wolverines defeated Cleveland State and Notre Dame by scores of 4-0 to make it to Round of 16, where they fell to UCLA.

Feb. 26, 2015 – No. 50 Dartmouth defeated No. 52 Michigan, 4-3, at the Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The winner of the Dartmouth/Michigan matchup will take on the winner of the Utah/Baylor match at 6 p.m. CDT (7 p.m. Eastern) on Saturday, May 4. The winner of the regional will advance to next weekend’s super regional, hosted at the highest remaining seed in the Round of 16.
