The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi had announced that its UMass chapter has achieved Circle of Excellence Gold status for 2018-19.
Phi Kappa Phi recognizes and promotes academic excellence in all fields of higher education. It was established in 1897 at the University of Maine by students and faculty.
The Circle of Honors Awards Program acknowledges chapters that have exhibited outstanding performance due to the efforts of their volunteer chapter officers promoting excellence on campus and in the community. This year, 75 out of 353 chapters received Circle of Honors status. The awards are based on data submitted by the chapter to the national office regarding yearly activities and initiation efforts.
