NEWPORT, R.I. – The Dartmouth sailing team finished sixth with 260 points after six races on Friday to wrap up the Sperry Women’s Championship in Newport, R.I.
Brown is the national champion with 184 points, second place went to Harvard (199), followed by Yale (214), George Washington (231) and Boston College (234).
Dartmouth’s Division A boat of skipper Audrey Giblin and crew Carlota Hopkins Guerra raced to 41 points. Giblin and Hopkins Guerra competed in every race on Friday and placed in the top five in three races. Their best mark was second place in the third race of the day.
The Big Green’s Division B boat of skipper Emma White and crews Aisling Sullivan and Paige Clarke had the third-best score in the division over the two days of the final. On Friday, the group had two top-five finishes with a first-place mark in the second race of the day.
The Sperry Women’s Championship has concluded, but the LaserPerformance Team Race Championship begins on Saturday with the first semifinal.
