NEWPORT, R.I. – The Dartmouth sailing team had a strong day on Sunday and finished fourth, which was good enough to advance to the LaserPerformace Team Race National Championship final. The Big Green won three out of seven races on the day.
Competing for the Big Green were seniors Christopher Williford, Rebecca McElvain, Mary Amis and Alyssa Berger, juniors Jack McGraw and Paige Clarke, sophomores Timothy Greenhouse, Eloise Burn and Max Clapp and freshman Aisling Sullivan and Carlota Hopkins Guerra.
Dartmouth claimed victories over Hobart, Navy and Boston College. The Big Green narrowly edged out the College of Charleston in the final standings, who were penalized twice and lost victories.
Also moving on to the final are Yale, Georgetown and Stanford.
The final of the Team Race Championship is on Monday in Newport, R.I.
