HANOVER, N.H. – With the start of the season 100 days away, head coach Amy Fowler has announced the 2019 Dartmouth field hockey schedule.
The 48th season of Big Green field hockey will feature a 17-game slate that runs from early September through the first week of November.
The year kicks off on the road at Northeastern on Friday, Sept. 6 with the home opener just two days later on Sunday, Sept. 8 against UMass. Two more games in the Commonwealth the following weekend will see the team take on Boston College (Sept. 13) and Holy Cross (Sept. 15).
The opening month of the season also features non-conference home games against New Hampshire (Sept. 20), Merrimack (Sept. 22) and UMass Lowell (Sept. 29). The game against Merrimack will be the first all-time meeting between the two as the Warriors make the jump to the Division I level this fall.
Prior to the game against the River Hawks, Dartmouth will open the Ivy League portion of its schedule against Princeton (Sept. 28).
October features a weekend trip to Providence Rhode Island, where the Big Green will take on both Brown (Oct. 5) and the Friars (Oct. 6). The team will play two more conference road games in the month, taking on Penn (Oct. 12) and Yale (Oct. 19) in Philadelphia and New Haven, respectively, on consecutive weekends. Home games against Maine (Oct. 20) and Columbia (Oct. 26) will close out October.
Day-trip road games at Harvard (Nov. 2) and Vermont (Nov. 3) start November with the final home game and Senior Day ceremonies set to go off against Cornell (Nov. 9).
