Dartmouth in Eighth After Day One of Coed Final

NEWPORT, R.I. – The Dartmouth coed sailing team raced to eighth place with 176 points on the first day of the Gill Coed National Championship Final on Thursday.
Competing for the Big Green were senior Christopher Williford, juniors Jack McGraw and Paige Clarke and sophomores Eloise Burn and Max Clapp.
Dartmouth’s Division A boat of skipper Williford and crew Burn had a very strong day. The duo placed fourth among Division A boats by collecting 63 points with four top-five finishes including one victory in ten races.  
The Big Green’s Division B boat of skippers McGraw and Clapp with Clarke as the crew raced to 113 points. The group placed in the top five in two races with its best finish being second.
The final day of the Gill Coed National Championship is Friday. The Big Green will look to move up and have a strong conclusion to the season.
