HANOVER, N.H. – Ron Rainey, the Dartmouth head coach of women’s soccer, has announced the 2019 schedule. The Big Green are coming off a 10-win season and a third-place finish in the Ivy League standings. The 17-game schedule consists of eight home games, including two against ACC opponents and a trip to Florida.
“We are excited about our 2019 schedule!”, said Rainey. “We know how much work we have to put in over the summer as we face the challenge of opening up with two schools from the ACC. That, along with the trip to Florida and our other non-conference foes will be great preparation for the Ivy League!”
Dartmouth opens the season on August 30th with consecutive games on Burnham Field against ACC foes beginning with Pittsburgh, followed by a meeting with Syracuse on September 1st.
The Big Green then head to the Sunshine State the next weekend for matchups at Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton (Sept. 6) and Florida International in Miami (Sept. 8).
Non-conference play continues when the Granite State rivalry is renewed on September 12th in Hanover as Dartmouth hosts New Hampshire. Last season, Charlotte Esty sent home a game-winner in double overtime in Durham. The Big Green keep the New England theme going with matchups at Quinnipiac (Sept. 15), home versus Rhode Island (Sept. 19), and at Sacred Heart (Sept. 22).
Ivy League play gets underway on September 28th at Brown followed by the Ivy home opener against defending conference champion Princeton on October 5th. Dartmouth will then play three straight road games at Yale (Oct. 12), Merrimack, the newest member of Division 1 (Oct. 15), and Penn (Oct. 19).
Dartmouth plays its final non-conference game in Hanover against Southern Illinois (Oct. 22) and closes the year with contests against Columbia (Oct. 26), at Harvard (Nov. 2) and the regular season finale at home against Cornell (Nov. 9).
