Dartmouth Heavyweights Race in IRA National Semifinal

GOLD RIVER, Calif. – Dartmouth heavyweight rowing competed in the semifinal of the IRA National Championship on Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif.

Racing in the semifinal for the Big Green were 1V, 2V, 3V and the varsity 4+. All of the Big Green boats advanced to the Petite Final which will take place on Sunday.  

Dartmouth’s V8 rowed in the second semifinal of the day against Washington, Harvard, Princeton, Boston University and Syracuse. The Big Green finished sixth (5:50.940).

The second V8 boat competed in the first semifinal against California, Washington, Princeton, Syracuse and Cornell. The Big Green placed in fourth (5:53.344).

The Big Green’s third V8 raced in the first semifinal against Washington, Princeton, California, Boston University and Navy. Dartmouth crossed the finish line in sixth (6:03.242).

The final boat was the Varsity 4+ which raced against California, Princeton, Georgetown, Harvard and Holy Cross. Dartmouth came in fifth place (6:37.867).

The 4+ kicks things off for the Big Green at 12:06 p.m., while the third V8 races at 1:00 p.m., Dartmouth’s second V8 competes at 1:16 p.m. and the V8 wraps up the day at 2:04 p.m. All times are Eastern Standard Time.
