In the best season ever for University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Men’s Tennis, the team tied for third place in the country after advancing to the semifinals of the NCAA Division II Men’s Tennis Championships in May at Sanlando Tennis Center, Florida.

UH Hilo’s magical run through the postseason came to an end at the hands of the No. 1 team in the nation. Barry (Florida) improved to 25-1 on the season with a 4-0 win over the Vulcans in the semifinals of the championships.

“We battled hard against the premier program in Division II,” said Vulcan head coach Kallen Mizuguchi. “I believe we showed that we belong. It was an incredible season. This team is very close and that really played a big role in our success this year.”
