After opening the season with three tournaments, the Dartmouth volleyball team will play just one match this weekend, heading to Harvard to open Ivy League play.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green went 2-1 at the Dog Pound Challenge, blanking Providence (25-16, 25-15, 25-21) and Holy Cross (25-21, 25-22, 25-10) and falling to the host UConn (22-25, 25-17, 10-25, 17-25).
- Grace Wiczek was first with 30 kills, 3.00 kills/set, 36.5 points and 3.65 points/set. She also recorded three aces, 13 digs and seven block assists. She had a career-high seven digs against UConn and five blocks against Holy Cross. She was named all-tournament for the second weekend in a row.
- Makenzie Arent led the team with 66 assists and six aces, and also recorded five kills, 25 digs and three blocks.
- Elise Petit also had a solid performance. She had 23 kills, 2.30 kills/set, three assists, two aces, 25 digs, three block assists and 26.5 points. She had a season-high 14 digs against Holy Cross.
SCOUTING THE CRIMSON
Harvard has struggled through tournament play, facing some tough opponents along the way. The Crimson enter conference action with a record of 2-9 and are currently on a six-match losing streak. After playing in three invites, Harvard played a single match against Syracuse two days later, falling by a score of 3-1.
LAST TIME AGAINST HARVARD
On Sept. 21, 2018, the Big Green defeated the Crimson, 3-2, (24-26, 25-21, 21-25, 25-17, 17-15) at home, downing Harvard for the first time since a five-setter on Sept. 25, 2015.
Mallen Bischoff and Corinne Cox had double-doubles; Bischoff had 11 kills and 13 digs, while Cox recorded 25 assists and 14 digs, while also leading the way with three of the team’s six service aces. Zoe Leonard was first with 20 digs and Abby Kott had six total blocks.
