The University of HawaiÊ»i SACNAS (Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science) Advisory Committee announced an opportunity for UH system students to attend the 2019 SACNASâ€”The National Diversity in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) conference for free (a $425 value), scheduled from October 31 to November 2, 2019, at the HawaiÊ»i Convention Center.
Pacific Biosciences Research Center Associate Specialist Healani Chang, a SACNAS board member, said, â€œThis is a wonderful opportunity for our UH students to expand their graduate and post-graduate opportunities, as they engage with some of the top STEM professionals from around the nation. We encourage all interested UH undergraduate and graduate students to apply.â€�
Limited free registrations are available. Applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Wednesday October 9, 2019, for consideration.
Awardees of this free registration opportunity may be asked to volunteer for a three-hour shift during the conference.
