AKRON, Ohio â€” With birdies on five of the last 12 holes, Dartmouth junior Jason Liu completed the third round of the Firestone Invitational with a 4-under 68 to vaulting eight spots in the final standings. His final tally of 72-72-68â€”212 (-4) left him just four strokes off the pace and tied for fourth.
Dartmouth wrapped up the tournament in 13th place at 26-over par (295-300-295â€”890) while South Carolina-Aiken kept Santa Clara and Bowling Green at bay by a single stroke to win the team title with a 7-under 857. Host Akron, led by medalist Fabian SundÃ©n at 8-under par, finished fourth at 4-under as a team.
