The Dartmouth volleyball team will close its eight-match road trip this weekend when it faces Cornell and Columbia.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green suffered 3-1 losses to both Brown (25-13, 14-25, 17-25, 18-25) and Yale (15-25, 25-23, 15-25, 19-25).
- Makenzie Arent had a double-double against Brown with 17 assists and 15 digs. Throughout the weekend, she accumulated 34 assists, six kills and 21 digs.
- In the two matches, Francesca Meldrum recorded 20 points, 13 kills, two aces, three digs and nine total blocks.
- Nicole Liddle was a close second with 19 points, while also registering a team-leading 17 kills, four assists, 21 digs and four total blocks.
SCOUTING THE BIG RED
Cornell enters the weekend with an overall record of 10-2 and has not dropped a game since a 3-2 loss to St. Mary’s on Sept. 13. The Big Red are tied with the Bulldogs for first in the Ivy League with records of 3-0. This past weekend, Cornell had a 3-2 victory over Penn and a 3-1 win against Princeton.
LAST TIME AGAINST CORNELL
The Big Green fell to the Big Red twice last season. At home on Oct. 26, 2018, Dartmouth took its match to four sets, but ultimately fell (17-25, 15-25, 25-17, 17-25).
SCOUTING THE LIONS
Columbia has an overall record of 8-5 and is 1-2 in conference action. Most recently, the Lions went 1-1 after first falling to Princeton (3-1) before defeating Penn by the same score the following day.
LAST TIME AGAINST COLUMBIA
The Big Green went 1-1 against the Lions in 2018, falling by a score of 3-1 on the road in September before blanking them at home a month later (25-13, 25-12, 28-26).
