Dartmouth Returns to Pool for Day Two of Ivy Championship

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Dartmouth women’s swimming and diving team returned to the pool for the second day of the 2020 Ivy League Championship on Thursday. The Big Green are seventh with 248 points, behind Penn (281) and ahead of Cornell (219.5).
In the 500 free, Mia Leko placed 12th (4:50.84), improving by a few tenths of a second from prelims to pick up 15 points. Christina Cianciolo also swam the event and came 16th (4:56.09). Competing in the 200 IM, Bridget Parker (2:04.26) and Alie Hunter (2:05.51) ended up in scoring position in the C final.
Dartmouth earned a total of 62 points in the 50 free. In the B final, Zoe Wortzman (22.97), Ashley Post (23.12) and Sophie Smith (23.14) took 10-12, with Smith tying the program record from 2013 (22.94) in prelims. Summer Martin (23.31) and Katherine Cane (23.48) were in the C final.
To wrap up the day, the Green were third in the 200 free relay (1:31.00), breaking the program record from 2016. Made up of Wortzman, Martin, Post and Smith, Dartmouth out-touched Brown by half a second.
Day three of the meet will start with the 400 IM.
