HANOVER, N.H. – Juniors Asha Taylor and Katie Douglas have been named team leaders for the 2020-21 season, as announced by the Gail Koziara Boudreaux ’82 and Family Head Coach Belle Koclanes.

“Asha and Dougie have been emerging leaders from day one of wearing the Green,” Koclanes said. “They bring both a collaborative and competitive energy to the team that is contagious, while consistently embodying our core values of Respect, Attitude and Preparation. We are excited for their continued commitment to leading by example as they work together to move our team forward.”

Taylor had a great year in 2019-20, appearing in 25 games and making 12 starts. She had many career-highs as a sophomore, including a pair of 12-point games against UMass Lowell and Texas State, six rebounds vs. Merrimack and Lowell, and 39 minutes of playing time against Texas State. She also had double-digit figures in four games and ended the year fifth on the team with 158 points.

Douglas appeared in all 27 games last season, earning her way into the starting lineup to make 21 starts. She ended up second on the team in 3-pointers (42) and third in points (202), both of which were personal bests. She had four games with a career-high five assists, had nine games with double-digit point totals and, at the end of the season, received the “GO Award”, which is given to the player who consistently demonstrated a commitment to improving the growth opportunities of her game.
