Vanderbilt welcomes 26 new tenure-track and tenured faculty members in 2020-21

In the 2020-21 academic year, Vanderbilt University is welcoming 26 new full-time, tenure-track and tenured faculty members across nine schools and colleges. The new faculty come from more than 20 disciplines and include scholars at multiple points in their academic careers.

  • Megan Behringer, assistant professor of biological sciences
  • Peter Bils, assistant professor of political science
  • Emanuele Costa, assistant professor of philosophy
  • Alex Dubilet, assistant professor of English*
  • Raheleh Filsoofi, assistant professor of art
  • Mabel Gergan, assistant professor of Asian studies
  • Major Jackson, Gertrude Conaway Vanderbilt Professor of English
  • Simone Stirner, assistant professor of German studies
  • Shatema Threadcraft, associate professor of gender and sexuality studies and political science
  • Krystl Tift, assistant professor of theatre
