HANOVER, N.H. — The Woods Watch Party arrives for its third week for Dartmouth’s Homecoming weekend with the live stream beginning on Saturday at a special time of 7 p.m. sponsored by Milton Cat on the Dartmouth Football YouTube channel . The featured game will be from another recent Homecoming — the 2017 showdown with Yale at Memorial Field.
Associate head coach Sammy McCorkle and offensive coordinator Kevin Daft will be joined by wide receiver Drew Hunnicutt ’19 and nickelback Kyran McKinney-Crudden ’18 to discuss the strategies and plays that went into the game as well as their Dartmouth experience. Once again, the play-by-play announcer for Dartmouth Football on ESPN+, Tyler Murray, will host the proceedings.
Those that tuned in last week to a thrilling 27-26 overtime triumph over nationally ranked Holy Cross will be familiar with the makeup of the team, as that game was played just two weeks prior to the Big Green hosting Yale. Dartmouth had won its Ivy League opener the week prior thanks to a 1-yard touchdown plunge by quarterback Jared Gerbino ’20 on the game’s final play at Penn for a 16-13 victory. Now the Green were looking to remain undefeated against a 3-0 Bulldog squad that had won each of its contests by at least 25 points.
Hunnicutt, the team’s second-leading receiver as a sophomore the previous year, entered the game with just two catches to his name in 2017 and was looking to make a larger impact. McKinney-Crudden, a Connecticut native who was in the first of his two seasons serving as a team captain, had missed all but one game the previous year due to injury and was beginning to become a larger presence for the Big Green defense. Both players would go on to earn All-Ivy League honors in the 2018 campaign, McKinney-Crudden on the first team and Hunnicutt on the second team.
